Work Opportunities is a non-profit organization founded by a group of parents from the Edmonds School District Special Education Parents Group who dreamt that their sons and daughters would be participating and contributing members of the community. Since 1963, Work Opportunities has addressed inequities for individuals with disabilities through inclusive employment and community participation. They envision a welcoming community where every person belongs and is valued for their gifts and abilities.

Work Opportunities recognize the need for increased options in employment and lifestyle. It values skill acquisition to increase inclusion and focus on abilities rather than disabilities. They are committed to increasing access to community resources and promoting understanding within the community of all aspects of disability.
